T. B. CALDWELL DIES SUDDENLY
T. B. Caldwell, one of Tillman county's best known farmers, died very suddenly at his home, six miles northwest of Frederick, Wednesday evening. Death occurred at 5 o'clock, while Mr. Caldwell was seated in a chair at home, and was due to heart disease.
Mr. Caldwell was known to be a sufferer from from heart trouble. Recently he had become a candidate for county assessor. Wednesday afternoon he received a petition in connection with his candidacy by mail, and was in the act of reading it when he suddenly expired. Mrs. Caldwell was in the room with him at the time. Dr. Spurgeon was summoned, but when he arrived found life extinct.
Mr. Caldwell was a successful farmer and a man who stood high in the esteem of his aquaintances. He was born January 6, 848, in Murray county, Tennessee. He moved to Cross county, Arkansas in 1865, and lived at various points in Arkansas until 1901, when he came to Frederick.
He was a member of the Methodist church at Caldwell, Arkansas. That church was burned, together with its records, and Mr. Caldwell never transferred his membership. He had been twice married, having lost his first wife by death. He is survived by Mrs. Caldwell, one son, Farley, of his second marriage, and the following children of his first marriage: John and Charles of the Big Pasture; Allen, of Memphis, Tennessee; Benjamin, of New Mexico, and Katie, who lives at the family home.
The funeral was held yesterday afernoon, burial being made at the Frederick cemetery. Brief services were held at the grave.

DEATH= We have just learned of the sudden and tragic death of our oldtime friend and fellow citizen, Mr.Thomas B.Caldwell two weeks ago. He left this county about two years ago and located at Frederick, Okla., where he became a highly respected and popular citizen, being elected to the office of assessor of the county, which position he held, and served his constituents faithfully and well and with honor and credit. He was in the middle of a campaign for reelection, and was sitting reading a paper when he said Oh, and grasped his chest, and died. We extend our sympathy to the friends and relatives.
Believe Caldwell, Arkansas named for this man.
