Dr. Thomas E. Chandler
Dr. Thomas E. Chandler, retired Methodist minister, died Sunday night at his home, 1108 Topeka. He was born June 1, 1864, in New Athens, Ohio, and later moved to Kansas City, Mo., with his parents. He was a graduate of Baker University and served as a trustee of the university for years.
From 1896 until 1898 he was pastor of the Kansas Avenue Methodist Church in North Topeka. He also had charges in Kansas City, Kan., Paola, Atchison, and Independence and was district superintendent in the Ottawa district. He was superintendent of the State School for the Blind in Kansas City, Kan., five years.
In 1920 he moved to the Pacific Coast for his health, returning to Topeka in 1940.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carolyn (sic) Chandler, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Mauzey, Seattle, Wash., and three grandchildren.
