David Alan Aamodt, age 60 of Mediapolis, died Saturday June 29, 2013 at Great River Medical Center. The son of Carroll and Maynis (Larson) Aamodt, he was born January 19, 1953 at Albert Lea, Minnesota. On July 30, 1988 he married Peggy Lindeen in Burlington. He was a graduate of Northwood Iowa High School and the University of Northern Iowa. He was a teacher, teaching in the Mediapolis School for over 35 years. He was a coach and took over management of the Mediapolis swimming pool this year. He was an active member of the Mediapolis First United Methodist Church. He led bible study and was worship leader. He loved to sing and provided music for many occasions.

Survivors include; his wife Peggy of Mediapolis; three sons, Ryan, Nate and Tyler all of Mediapolis; his Mother of Northwood, Iowa; two brothers, Craig of Steward, Illinois and Robert of Lake Mills, Iowa; one sister, Lora Aamodt of Austin, Minnesota;

He was preceded in death by his Father, an infant sister and a sister in law Linda.

The funeral service will be Wednesday July 3, 2013 at the Mediapolis Elementary School Gym at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Jeff Kodis, Rev. John Gaulke, and Wally Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in the Kossuth Cemetery.
Friends may call at the school gym on Tuesday from 4-7:00 p.m. where the family will be present .
Memorials have been established for the Mediapolis Community Theatre, Special Needs Foundation, and Mediapolis Youth Group.
