Hurlin Gene Woods, passed away Friday June 28, 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 67. Born April 15, 1946 in Casey County, KY, he is the son of the late Arthur and Myrtle Overstreet Woods. He was retired from the United States Army and National Guard with thirty-seven and half years of service. He was a member of the Hendersonville Pentecostal Church and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Diana Allen Woods of Portland , TN; son, Tim Woods of Lexington, KY ; two daughter, JoAnn (and Howard) Anderson of Greenbrier, TN and Laura Madden of Gallatin, TN; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, RC Woods and Donald Woods. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday July 2, 2013 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Thaxton officiating. Burial is in the Salem Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad.
