Helen taught in the public schools of Annapolis, Maryland for abut 17 years. During the 1940's she was an assistant librarian at Coyle Free Library in Chambersburg, PA where she was born and raised. She graduated from the Georgetown Visitation Convent in Washington, D.C. in 1897 and in 1918 completed a two year course of study at Drexel Institute. She also held certification for summer courses at the then Pennsylvania State College and Teachers College, and Columbia University.
She passed away in Hagerstown, Md. at the Martin Manor Rest Home. She had been in ill health for seven years.
