Barbara Alice Tressler, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away April 21, 2005. She was born in Bellefonte on October 13,1932. She lived most of her life in the State College area. She was the daughter to the late Harold I. and Alice R. Eckenroth Houtz. She is survived by two daughters,; Kathleen D. Lowe and her husband Stacy of Boalsburg, and Dawn L. Tressler of State College,; one son, Jay L., Jr. and his wife Lesley of State College,; two grandsons, Steven L. of Boalsburg and Austin L. of State College,; and one brother, Dorsey Houtz of State College. She was at one time the owner and operator of a beauty parlor, employed by Centre Engineering in State College, a homemaker, and was also a self employed house keeper prior to her retirement. She loved flowers, gardening, plants, and gospel music. She was a long time member of the Shiloh Lutheran Church. Funeral Monday, April 25, 2005 at Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, State College, Rev. Dean E. Rupe officiating. Burial at Shiloh Lutheran Cemetery. [Centre Daily]
