COLLINS --- Mr. David M. Abercrombie, 61, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, in Collins.

Mr. Abercrombie was born Feb. 7, 1938, in Covington County. He was an Army veteran and was a retired offshore worker. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. Abercrombie and Lou Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Reynolds Abercrombie; three sons, David Raymond Abercrombie and Ethan Abercrombie, both of Gulfport, and Ray Shows of Mt. Olive; two daughters, Angela Faul of Gulfport and Mary Ann Starling of Collins; a brother, Paul Abercrombie of Hebron; six sisters, Opal Rhodes of Laurel, Eddie Mae Morgan of Moselle, Jean Denley of Halleyville, Ala., Lou Ollie Knight of Soso, Doris Nichols of Mt. Olive and Loretta Grice of Big Creek, and four grandchildren.

A service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Billy King Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins with burial in Cooley Springs Cemetery in Mt. Olive.
