Nellie had no children. She enjoyed doing beautiful needle work, fishing and raising parakeets. Wonderful cook.

Great Aunt Nellie, was a really neat person, she was fun to be around. When ever I visited her and Uncle Estel she would pull out the old tapioca pudding and pour it in a bowl and added warm water.
I could not wait to climb up on the big wooden chair, never once thinking I would end up with a splinter in my knee, as I squirmed around for a couple of hours watching the Tapioca swell up til it almost over flowed the big crock bowl. This was great fun to me and now that I think back she seemed to be having as much fun as I was.
It was always my special treat when ever we went to see her.

It wasn't until many years later that I found out this was her way to settle down this little girl. I was like a whirlwind so everyone learned how to distract me, so I would stop asking questions and keep me settled down for a while.

She would let me plunder her jewelry box and drape myself in her beads and never once did she get upset, when I sometimes broke her necklaces. Nellie would laugh and act like this was all fun.

Great Aunt Nellie wore lots of jewelry and long before it was in style she wore one or two rings on all her fingers. Many of her rings and bracelets were made by my Uncle Estel and I have inherited many of her rings and lots other of her Bling. When as a teen I picked up the habit of wearing lots of rings, my dad would call me Nellie, how proud I was. Gosh I miss the grand old Gal.

Thank you very much for your visit and your kindness
