Hazel A (McDonald) Berringer, 88, RD Cherry Tree, died Wednesday, Aug 22, 2007, at her home. the daughter of Albert James and Laverna Catherine (Elliot) McDonald, she was born on Dec. 15, 1918, at RD Barnesboro. She was a graduate of the green Township High School class of 1935. Mrs. Berringer was a member of the Pine grove churchof God, where sh had actively involved with church activities, including her membership in the Women's Missionary Group.
She married her late husband, Hoyt C. Berringer, on April 6, 1937. Mrs Berringer was a longtime member of the Hope Grange, where she had belonged for more tah 60 years. She had been a 4-H leader and enjoyed quilting, sewing, cookingand canning.
She is survived by three children, Arlene Golden, Avon Park, Fla.; Claudia Brock and husband Charles Robert, Avon Park, Fla; and Roger H. Berringer and wife Mary Louise "Pease" RD cherry Tree, five grandchildren, Dary Golden, Douglas Golden, Dana Cowart, Nannette Gibson and Kevin Berringer and five great-grandchildren, Levi, Lincoln andLoni Gibson, Delora Golden and Tanner Berringer and a great-great granddaughter, Riley Gibson, to sisters Shirley Ruggles of cherry Tree and Gladys Gordon of Johnstown, and numerous nieces and nephews. she was precededin death by her parents, her husband Hoyt on May 31, 2004 and six siblings, mary Pershing, Bessie Zieminski, Lottie Gromley, George McDonald, Nelphie Stiffler and Florence Frampton
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 Friday at the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd, Hillsdale, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pine Grove Church of God on the corner of Route 240 and dogwood Road, cherry Tree, where an 11 a.m. funeral will be held Saturday with Rev. Gerald Craker officiating. Interment will follow at the Uniontown cemetery. Memorial contributions may be forwarded to the VNA Hospice of Indiana County, 850 Hospital Road, suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701
