Bill's career included law enforcement and farming. On October 28, 1957, he joined the ranks of the Illinois State Police, serving as a trooper in Districts 12, 13 and 19. He retired from District 19 (Carmi) on November 30, 1980, with 23 years of service.
Visitation: Friday, July 5 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6.
Burial: Mt. Olivet Church Cemetery at McLeansboro with military honors provided by the Illinois State Police, American Legion Post 106 and a Military Honor Team from Marion.
