Mrs. Ethel Lee Carey Sexton, 93, of 6274 Highway 174, Danielsville, died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at her home.
Mrs. Sexton was born in Madison County, Ga., February 27 1916, daughter of the late S.M. and Era Fitts Carey. She was a retired seamstress and member of the Evangelical Methodist Church, the Evangelical Methodist Church Young at Heart Club, and the Happy Traveler's Club. Mrs. Sexton was preceded in death by her husband, the late Bud C. Sexton.
Survivors include daughter, Bonnie Tolbert of Danielsville, sons and daughters-in-law Byron and Elaine Sexton of Carnesville, Banister and Betty Sexton of Danielsville, Buddy and Irene Sexton of Danielsville, Bobby and Sue Sexton of Danielsville; brother Ford Carey of Danielsville; sisters Annie Mae Smith of Hull, Roberta Dove of Danielsville, Stuart Kirk of Danielsville and Gladell Sexton; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also survive.
She is preceded in death by one son-in-law Gary Tolbert, four brothers, Alfred, John L., Buford and Billy Carey; four sisters, Allie Dudley, Cornelia "Nita" Ginn, Hester Sartain and Stuart Kirk; one granddaughter, Pamela Sexton.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Sexton will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at the Evangelical Methodist Church with the Rev. Lance Snipes and the Rev. Tim Peek officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
