Death Notices
Robert Leo Slaven, 71, of 1231 W. 7th St., Davenport, former electrician, died at 10:05 a.m. in his home today after an extended illness.
Mr. Slaven was born in Washington Jan. 3, 1882, and married Clara Nelson in Feb. 1948 in Rock Island. He had been a resident of Davenport since 1948, previously having resided in Rock Island for 20 years. He was a charter member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 235, of Davenport, and St. Joseph's Catholic church.
Survivors include his widow; four daughters, Mrs. Edwin Van Goor, Rock Island, and Mrs. Catherine Masilko, Mrs. Robert Jetter and Mrs. George Petersen, all of Omaha; two brothers and four sisters in Omaha; nine grandchildren.
The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Saturday in Runge chapel, and the body will be sent early Sunday morning to the Johnny Gentleman funeral home, Omaha, for services and burial Monday.
