Emma LaRae Perkins, 73, died peacefully June 26th, 2013 at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. LaRae was born January 3rd, 1940 to Wesley and Jessie Jensen of Ovid Idaho. She was the the second of two children, Bobby Dean Jensen being her only natural sibling.
A cousin/sister, Phyllis Hilton, was brought into the family after her mother had passed.

In 1957, at 17 years young, she married Jim Poulsen. From that union two children were born. Jesssie Rae and Richard James. They moved to California to start there new life and were later divorced.

It was in California that LaRae met her second husband, a handsome young marine named John Hale. The two married and spent many years as husband and wife. In 1980 LaRae met her soul mate, VanNess Perkins. They had a wonderful life together. Enjoying each others company and growing families until VanNess passed away in 2000. After 20 years of marriage LaRae and VaNess were sealed for all time and eternity. Rae lived alone after that and she engulfed herself in church, friends and family.

She happily held any calling that was asked of her, from ward historian, councilor in the relief society, single adult leader and visiting teaching. She was also a member of the Elizabeth Passey chapter of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers where she was a past president.

LaRae loved flowers, gardening, quilting, her pets and especially her family. Rae was an excellent cook and could not wait for the next family cookout. She loved to cook for a crowd and trying out new recipes. She was compassionate and was the first to offer help to anyone in need. She will be missed by all who new her and never be forgotten.

She is survived by her daughter Jessie Rae and grandaughter Linzie Harris of Colorado. One son Richard (Rick) Poulsen and his wife Tricia. Three granddaughters Lacey-Poulsen, Hailey Poulsen and Courtney Poulsen and her only grandson, Shayden Poulsen, all of Montpelier Idaho. She is also survived by the two boys that kept her young, her great- grandsons, Drayson Otero and Daxton Wood. Also her only brother Bobby Dean Jensen (Connie) of Paris Idaho.

A visitation will be held July 1st from 10:00 until 11:45 with the funeral service to follow at the Liberty Ward Church.
