Jeanne D. Brown, resident of Millbrae, born in Pablo, Montana, December 2, 1919 and passed away on June 28, 2012 at the age of 92. She was the Navy wife to her late husband, Glen R. Brown for 62 yrs. She is survived by her 2 daughters: Gillian Brown of San Mateo and Elyce Brown (Simpson) with 2 grandsons: Jasper and Oliver Simpson-all of Santa Rosa. She also leaves her sister, Pearl Myron of Seattle WA, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. As a military wife she lived in Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Japan and California. She and Glen finally planted roots in Millbrae for the last 40 yrs. She was a longtime member of Calvary Lutheran Church, thinking of them as a 2nd family. She also attended the Community Bible Study group in San Mateo for 20+ yrs. Jeanne and Glen enjoyed the people they met through the 13 yrs of running the House of Amsterdam (a European gift store) on 333 Broadway, Millbrae. Jeanne was also a regular worker on the election board and helped begin the La Serena Chile-Sister City program. For several yrs. She was a Girl Scout leader. She was definitely a "people person" and a great communicator. All her life she enjoyed a large correspondence with Navy families, friends, and relatives. Jeanne was very health conscious and exercised every morning. Her sudden heart failure was a surprise to us all, but her death was a quick and gentle one. Her positive energy, strong spirit, outgoing nature and quirky sense of humor were inspiring and she will be missed. Those who wish to honor her memory are welcome to attend the memorial service at Calvary Lutheran Church at 401 Santa Lucia Ave. Millbrae on Sunday, Aug. 12th at 2 p.m. Any memorial donations may be made to Calvary, or a charity of your choice.
