Mr. Sandy Alexander Abbott, Jr., age 82, of Barnesville passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 in a Barnesville Healthcare Facility. A native of Lamar County, Mr. Abbott was the son of the late Mr. Sandy Alexander Abbott, Sr. and the late Mrs. Nora Belle Barksdale Abbott , and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Abbott Rooks. Mr. Abbott was a Deacon and Charter Member of New Life Baptist Church, and had been a faithful employee of The William Carter Company for 50 years.

Mr. Abbott was survived by his wife of 61 years - Dot Abbott of Barnesville ; One Daughter - Rhonda (& Freddy) Miller of Barnesville ; 8 Grandchildren ; 7 Great Grandchildren ; & 1 Great Great Grandchild.

Funeral Services for Mr. Sandy Abbott will be conducted Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 3 O'Clock in New Life Baptist Church with the Reverends Derek Lovelady and Charles Killingsworth, and Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
