Mr. Liddle, a member of the Board of Fire Commissioners here, serving in the capacity of treasurer and an inspector in the real estate department of Woodbridge township, died Sunday morning at his home after a lingering illness.
The deceased conducted an insurance business in Fords for several years. He also served as postmaster at the local post office for eight years.
He was a member of Fords Fire Company No. 1, the exempt firemen's association and the Middlesex Council No. 1100, Royal Arcanum of Perth Amboy.
Mr. Liddle is survived by his wife, Helga; two daughters, Mrs. Donald Zenobia, of Woodbridge, and Gladys B. Liddle; a son, George W. Liddle; a sister, Mrs. Allyn Peterson, and a brother, T. Wesley Liddle, all of Fords.
Mr. Liddle was very active in local politics as well as the civic life of the community. His many friends paid their last respects at the funeral Wednesday and the fire whistle was sounded when the funeral procession left for the cemetery.
