Mrs. Elbert was born March 23, 1904, in Washington, the daughter of John B. Aholt and wife Frances M., nee Schulte.
She received her education at St. Peter's Catholic School.
On Feb. 20, 1936, she was united in marriage to Herbert L. Elbert at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington.
Mrs. Elbert was a member of St. Francis Borgia Church and Ladies Sodality and the Secular Franciscans.
She also was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and the Western Catholic Union.
Mrs. Elbert was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert L. Elbert, on Oct. 5, 1994; six brothers, Martin, Joseph,Frank, Robert, Tony and August Aholt; two sisters, Elizabeth Piontek and Frances Struckhoff; five sisters-in-law,Frances Aholt, Christine Aholt, Victoria Aholt, Frances Aholt and Lidwina Aholt; and by two brothers-in-law, Edmund Struckhoff and John Piontek.
Mrs. Elbert is survived by two sons, Charles Elbert and wife Patricia, Baldwin, Md., and Richard Elbert and wife Mary,Washington; five grandchildren, Scott Elbert and wife Bethanne, Becky Sinton and husband Bob, Eric Elbert, Katie
Schonaerts and husband Pete, and Emily Elbert; four great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Laura Ann Sinton, Andrew
Elbert and Sam Schonaerts; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 5, at St. Francis Borgia Church with the Rev. Jack Costello
officiating.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
Memorials to Our Lady of Lourdes Buildng Fund or SFB Church Renovation Fund are preferred.
