Mr. Gerstenkorn was born Oct. 16, 1930, in South Bend, Ind., the son of Aloys Gerstenkorn and his wife Esther, nee Hannon.
He was united in marriage May 15, 1954, to Dolores "Dolly" Marquart at St. Francis Borgia Church in Washington.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Gerstenkorn was a member of the Washington Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus.
He and Dolly celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, May 15, 2004.
Mr. Gerstenkorn was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Dolores "Dolly" Gerstenkorn, Washington; two sons, David Gerstenkorn and wife Barb, St. Louis, and Dale Gerstenkorn and wife Dee, St. Charles; two daughters, Dianne Randall and husband Dennis, St. Charles, and Susie Gerstenkorn, St. Peters; four sisters, Helen Orth and husband Bob, West Covina, Calif., Jeanette Marleau and husband Ron, Toronto, Canada, Audrey Sims, Salina, Kan., and Arvilla Stallbaumer and husband Ed, Topeka, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 19, at St. Francis Borgia Church in Washington with the Rev. Mike Boehm officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials to Friends of Kids with Cancer or St. Francis Borgia Regional High School Athletic Association are preferred.
