Poems of Nature and Life, by John Witt Randall, pg 41 & 42; print, Boston, MA · 1899 (Google Books): Dr. John Randall, the eldest son of Silas and Elizabeth (Witt) Randall, was born in Stow, Massachusetts, December 20, 1774, and died at Boston, December 27, 1843. He was graduated at Harvard in the class of 1802, and took the degrees of M.B. in 1806, and M.D. in 1811. As one of the most eminent practicing physicians of his time in Boston, he was successful and popular, and acquired by devotion to his profession a handsome competency. On March 12, 1809, he married Elizabeth Wells, by whom he had five children, all born in Boston as follows: 4. Maria Hayward, born October 5, 1820, and died at Boston, May 25, 1842.
