DR.Joseph Russell Caldwell died at his home in Marcus Hook,Delaware county near Philadelphia at the age of 63. His remains were brought to his brothers home, Samuel Livingston Caldwell. Where funeral services were held. Interment will take place in the Delaware cemetery,Mercer county Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife Ella, one daughter and three brothers. John Lawson Caldwell, Samuel Livingston both of Greenville, Pennsylvania and Daniel R. Caldwell of Gunnison, Colorado. One sister Mrs. J. Ebenezer Brown.
Dr. Caldwell was one of best known and successful practitioners in the county. For many years he resided in New Hamburg where practiced his profession. He was a gentleman in every walk of life. In politics he was an ardent Republican. He was a veteran of the Civil war and a member of the Fredonia G.A.R. post.
Dr. Caldwell and his wife Ella had two children, May and Meade Caldwell, both born in Pennsylvania.
