Mary Zaharias Tulumaris Gregory, 90, of Marietta, passed away Wednesday (Aug. 20, 2008). She was born July 30, 1918, in Rockwood, Tenn., to the late George and Thalia Papdropoulos Zaharias.
She was the owner of Hellenic Caterers, Marietta Hardware and Western Auto; a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marietta, Betsey Mills Girls Council, Marietta Welfare League, and Society of Arts and Letters; former member of Marietta Calligraphy; and enjoyed playing in several bridge clubs.
Mary is survived by a daughter-in-law, Teresa Pfaff Tulumaris of Charlotte, N.C.; grandson, Douglas Tulumaris and wife, Jackie, of Cincinnati, Ohio; granddaughter, Andrea Funk and husband, Mark, of Dallas, Texas; great-granddaughter, Nathalie Tulumaris of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Mabel Nickles and Katherine Nicholakis, both of Cambridge; a sister-in-law, Helen Zaharias of New Albany, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Costa Tulumaris; second husband, Thomas Gregory (Sept. 9, 1996); son, Anthony "Tony" John Tulumaris (Jan 7, 2003); brother, Pete Zaharias; and sister, Ellen Sloan.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 23, 2008) at Hadley Funeral Home, 500 Fifth St., Marietta Chapel, with the Rev. Craig Butler officiating, with burial to follow at Putnam Cemetery.
