Marshall- Burlin James Shetley, 86, of 234 Morlin Acres, died Friday, January 29, 1999.
A native of Madison County, Mr. Shetley had lived most of his life in Hot Springs. He was the son of the late Nicholas, and Minnie Roland Shetley.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Parton Shetley, who passed away in 1986, and a daughter, Ruby Church, who passed away in 1982.
He attended Fairview Methodist Church. Mr. Shetley would have been 87 years old on Wednesday, February 3. Mr. Shetley is survived by daughters Shirley Dockery of Cleveland, SC; Reva Chandler of Marshall; and Minnis Shetley of Thomasville and Dennis Shetley of Marshall; sisters, Sue Holt of Hot Springs and Jean Davis of Weaverville; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services for Mr. Shetley will be conducted at 2 pm Monday, February 1, 1999 in the chapel of Madison Funeral Home. The Revs. Larry Sprouse and JB Shetley will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
