Marian E. Duck Zeigler, 92, Baltimore, formerly of Spring Mills, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2005, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. Born on May 29, 1912, in Mackeyville, she was a daughter of the late Dallas and Mazie Roush Duck. Mr. Zeigler was a 1931 graduate of Gregg Township Vocational School, where she was active on the basketball team. On Feb. 14, 1937, she married Ray H. Zeigler, who preceded her in death on April 12, 1994. Marian was a telephone operator for the Bell Telephone Co. of Pennsylvania for 25 years. She retired to become a homemaker and to have more time to spend with her husband. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church of Spring Mills, where she played the piano for many years. She was a member of the Gregg Township Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid quilt maker and crocheted as well. Marian was a caring, warm and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by a son, Ray H. Zeigler, of Baltimore; two grandchildren, Susan Zeigler of Chicago and Bryan Zeigler, of Newark, N.J.; and a sister, Phyllis Schaeffer, of Centre Hall. Funeral Friday at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Service, Centre Hall, Rev. F. Jeffrey Mugridge officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery. [Centre Daily]
