Mabel Long, a native of Greene County and longtime resident of Waynesburg, died Sunday, March 24, 1957, in Burbank, Calif. She had been a semi-invalid for some time.
Born on Muddy Creek near Khedive, she was a member of a prominent Greene County family and the daughter of Milton and Mary McClelland Long, deceased. She was graduated from California State Normal School, now California State Teachers College, and for several years thereafter taught school at Davenport, Iowa. Returning to Greene County, she resided with her parents on East Lincoln street for several years and left Waynesburg following the death of her parents. She had lived in California for the past several years.
A number of her cousins reside in Greene County.
Burial was at Englewood, Calif.
