STUARTS DRAFT - Ruby "Granny" Brandenburg, 90, of 405 York Ave., died Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 3, 1998) at Stuarts Draft Christian Home.
She was born Jan. 15, 1908, in Montebello, a daughter of Jefferson Davis and Adaline Zink Allen.
She was a member of Vesuvius Baptist Church and the Women I Sunday School class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert "Reds" Brandenburg, in 1965.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Martha) Black of Stuarts Draft and Mrs Herb (Betty) Carwell of Fairfield; two sisters, Virginia "Punk" Desantis of Warrenton and Audrey "Doll" Williams of Stuarts Draft; four granddaughters, Mrs. Wayne (Debby) Bishop of Raphine, Mrs. Allan (Sherry) Wiltshire of Decatur, Ga., Mrs. Terry (Lu Ann) Smith of Raphine, and Mrs. Matthew (Melissa) Wood of Charlottesville; five great-grandchildren, Emma, "Fitz," and Charis Wiltshire, Blake and Hayley Smith, and Seth Wood; and many nieces and nephews.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vesuvius Baptist Church by the Revs. Dan Stanley and Jeffrey Schroeder with burial to follow at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be John Ross Ham, Fred Lunsford, David Ramsey, Richard Brooks, Thad Painter, Lyndon "Buck" Harris and David Pence.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Reynolds Funeral Service of Stuarts Draft.
