Aged Member of Prominent Philadelphia Family Murdered by Relative - Slayer Ends Own Life - Cohen Believed Temporarily Insane.

Philadelphia, March 30 - Mrs. Clotilda Cohen, 85, member of a prominent family of this city, was shot and killed today by Henry R. Cohen, her grandson, who then committed suicide.

The tragedy occurred in Mrs. Cohen's room and while she was in be. Cohen is believed to have been insane.

The purposelessness of the shooting puzzled the police. Cohen was well liked by his grandmother. He is said to have been a keen business man and never showed indications of a diseased mind. His father, who talked with him just before the shooting, said his son appeared in good health and was normally healthy. The family physician pronounced it a case of sudden insanity. Charles Cohen, his father, is president of the chamber of commerce of this city. The family is an old one, prominent in the social life of this city. Henry B. Cohen was in the lithographing business. He was a member of several exclusive clubs. Lieutenant Cohen, a brother, is with the United State battleship Delaware. His sister is a tennis champion of Philadelphia.
