Doris R. Wilson, 83, died at 1 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2005, at Rest Haven - York. She was the wife of John A. ''Pete'' Wilson. The Wilson's observed their 58th wedding anniversary on May 27, 2005. Doris was born on March 3, 1922, in York, and was the daughter of the late Ralph D. and Edna C. (Kraft) Martin. She was an employee for the former Jay's Market in East York and was also a licensed beautician. Doris was a member of the Leisure Club of York. In her younger years, she enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. After their retirement, the Wilsons loved to travel in their RV. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a grandson, Melvin R. Wilson, Jr. and his wife, Carol of York; two greatgranddaughters, Brenna and Molly Wilson; and a sister, Bernice Osborne of Santa Rosa, CA. Doris was predeceased by a son, Melvin R. Wilson, who died on January 3, 2005. Funeral Wednesday, at Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, York, Rev. Richard B. Starr officiating. Burial in Mount Rose Cemetery. Doris was the niece of Milton Martin, the benefactor of the local library, so contributions may be made to the Martin Library, York. [York Daily Record]
