Ruth Violet (Frey) Deitz, 89, passed on to be with the Lord at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at her daughter's home. She was the loving wife of Curvin Deitz with whom she shared many happy years. Celebration of life service Monday, June 27, 2005, at Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Home, Red Lion, Pastor Randy Starr officiating. Burial in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Deitz was born November 13, 1915, in Craley, a daughter of the late John S. and Mary S. (Smeltzer) Frey. She attended school in Craley. She loved cooking, sewing, and had her own beauty shop for ten years. She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by a son, Terry L. Deitz and his wife, Mabel of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter, Bonnie J. Fischer and her husband, Warren Sr. of Windsor; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marguerite Weisinger of Gresham, OR, and June Keller of York. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emilia Fischer. [York Daily Record]
