Clarence W. Lauver

Clarence W. Lauver, 88, 1305 17th Ave., died Sunday evening, June 8, 1997, at Altoona Hospital's emergency room.

He was born July 24, 1908, in Altoona, the son of Charles Newton and Blanche Elizabeth (Cossel) Lauver. He married Rhoda Louise Markel Jan. 15, 1944, in Frankstown. She died Dec 25, 1972.

Mr. Lauver retired as a butcher and cook from the Penn Alto Hotel in 1970, after many years of service.

He was a former member of the 40 et 8 Club and the Altoona Moose Lodge.

His hobbies were bingo and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Surviving are three daughters; Joanna Dolan of Bedford, Linda of Duncansville and Debbie Keller of Greenwood; a sister, Geraldine May of Rogers, Ark; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Daniel R. Myers Funeral Home.


LAUVER-Services for Clarence W. Lauver of 1305 17th Ave., will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Daniel R. Myers Funeral Home by the Rev. Norman Spangler.

Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. Friends will be received from noon until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Lauver was preceded in death by a granddaughter Christina Lauver
