Paul W. Snavely, 82, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2005, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Ethel R. (Spangler) Snavely, with whom he celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on January 3rd. Mr. Snavely was born in Lewisberry on July 31, 1922, to the late, Mearle W. and Ruth Ellen (Comp) Snavely. Paul was employed by the Central School District for 11 years, retiring in 1981. Previously he was employed as a subcontractor. He served in the US Army during W.W. II. He was a loving husband and father. He is survived by three daughters, Nancy L. Paul and Paula J. Beck of Manchester; Sharon L. Eby of Maryland; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian P. Snavely. Funeral Thursday at LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, York. Final resting place in Mount Rose Cemetery with full military rites by the York County Honor Guard. [York Daily Record]
