Chester R. Fox, 91, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday evening, June 29, 2005, at The Brethren Home Community, New Oxford. He had been admitted to sub acute care following a recent hospitalization. Lola M. Fox, his wife of 67 years, preceded him in death on September 6, 2004. Chester was born on February 18, 1914, in Franklin County, to the late Ray J. Fox and Carrie E. Fox. He was a ten year resident of The Brethren Home Community of New Oxford and a member of the Nicarry Meeting House Congregation. He was a member of the White Rose Lodge #706 Free and Accepted Masons; York Forest #30 Tall Cedars of Lebanon; and was a life member of Starview Sportsmen's Association. He had been employed by the Naval Ordnance Plant and subsequently by Allis Chalmers at the time of his retirement. Mr. Fox is survived by a son, C. Ray Fox, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Shiloh; one sister, Pearl Dial of Waynesboro; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Fox; and a sister, Helen Rebok. Funeral Tuesday at Nicarry Meeting House at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford, Rev. Anna Becha officiating. Final resting place in Prospect Hill Cemetery. [York Daily Record]
