DEMPSEY: Jack Franklin Dempsey, 80, of Deming, the father of Rex Dempsey of Hurley, died Sunday afternoon at the Mimbres Memorial Hospital, Deming. A native of Ft. Scott, KS, the deceased was a former Grant County resident since 1945 and had been employed by the Chino Mines Division of Kennecott Copper Corporation. Survivors other than the son include a daughter, Mrs. Tom Hartigan of Deming; two brothers, Floyd of Los Angeles CA., and Patrick of Tucson, AZ, a sister Clara Whetchel of Los Angeles; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
