Mary E. Wertz, 57, Springettsbury Twp., died at 2:02 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Barry W. Wertz, Sr., whom she married on February 17, 1963, at Union Lutheran Church in York. Born April 19, 1948, in York, she was a daughter of Catherine Lease of York and the late William M. "Thomas" Estep, Sr. She had worked for F&S Transportation as an aid for special needs children on school bus runs. In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Wertz is survived by four sons, Staff Sgt. Barry W. Wertz, Jr., of Red Lion, John J. Wertz, Sr., of Frysville, Charles T. Wertz of Windsor, and Danny J. Wertz of York; a daughter, Ann M. Wertz-Burg of Manchester; 13 grandchildren; and four brothers, Thomas Estep of York Haven, George Estep and David Estep both of York County, and Ken Estep of Broadway, VA.
