He was the husband of the late Ruth E. (Walden) Cummings. He was born in Providence. He was the son of the late Elizabeth (Murphy) Cummings.
He had lived in Providence before moving to Warwick 25 years ago. He worked at the General Products Company, Providence, and at Klitzner Industries, Providence. He later worked part-time for several years at Stop & Shop, Cowesett Corners, Warwick, before retiring in 1999 at the age of 85.
He served in the National Guard from 1932-1935 with the 118th Engineers and was a past president of the Sparrows Point II Association.
He is survived by one daughter, Paula C. Morsilli of Warwick; one son, Gregory L. Cummings of Greenville, NC; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
