CHERAW—Mr. Elwood Alford, 78, died Dec. 3, 1995.

Funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Glenn Davis officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser Funeral Home.

Mr. Alford was born in Dillon. He was a retired restaurant owner and a member of Omar Temple. He was also a member of York Mason Rite and Cheraw Masonic Lodge. Mr. Alford was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Alford of Cheraw; sons, Kenneth ''Zeke'' Alford and John Paul Coates, both of Cheraw; daughters, Renee A. Creech and Delores (Lobie) Hammond, both of Cheraw; sisters, Dotha C. Lundy of Oak Grove, Eutha Brewer of Lake View and Lizzie Matovic of Chester, NY; grandchildren, Lynn Creech, Lisa Douglas, Lori Creech, David L. Morgan and Ashton Coates.

Memorials may be made to the Cheraw Rescue Squad or Shriner's Hospital.
