VINTON - Arnie Earl Abbott, 51, at his home Monday, had been in ill health a year, born July 6, 1892, at Lakon, Illinois, son of Egbert and Lydia Fuller Abbott; married January 13, 1913 to Elsie Brown of Urbana; had lived all his life in Vinton and Mt. Auburn communities; leaves widow, his mother, living in La Porte City; eight children, Earl in the U. S. Army in Australia; Deloris Gille, La Porte City; Ila Derifield, Waterloo; Lois Philips, Iris Abbott, Arnie Dean, Ivalee Ellen, and Nancy Rae, all at home; 9 grandchildren; a brother, Forest and a sister Mrs. Jake Selk, both of La Porte City; Funeral, 2 p.m. Friday at the Alcorn-Guenther Funeral Home; burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
