N. M. (Mike) Bratton of Gatesville died Jan. 22 at a local hospital. He was 86.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Southwell officiating. Burial was in Pidcoke Cemetery.

Mr. Bratton was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Mason County to the late Jesse and Jennie Williams Bratton.

He married Dorothy Kemp on Aug. 2, 1939, and they resided in Gatesville most of their married lives. She preceded him in death on May 18, 2001. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter. Barbara Villegas; sisters, Lottie Gallebly of Gatesville, Fay Woods of Voca, Edith Slaughter of Brady and Dorcas Steeemoller of Cleburne; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
