The Pleasant Hill Times Services were held for Andy L. Paul, 78, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri July 11, 1989 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill. The Rev. John Clark officiated; burial was at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casketbearers included Terry Ray Shipley, Bob Paul, David Earl Paul, Jack Lash, Michael Shipley and Bob Hoye. Mr. Paul died July 9, 1989 at the Camden Health Care Center in Harrisonville, Missouri, following a year of declining health. He was born in Kingsville, Missouri on November 22, 1910 to Ira Thornton Paul and Katy Louise Denny Paul. He married Fern Shipley November 20, 1922 in Kingsville. Mr. Paul spent the early years of his life in the Kingsville area. After his marriage in 1932, he and his wife lived in Holden, Missouri and then moved to Harrisonville before moving to Strasburg, Missouri in 1934. They lived there for 51 years and after he retired, they moved to Pleasant Hill in 1985 where they made their home. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Strasburg Union Church. He was in the ACS office in Harrisonville for 33 years and was a member of the F.H.A. board for several four-year terms. Mr. Paul also served on the water board of Strasburg many years. Survivors include his wife, Fern Shipley Paul of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Sharon Paul Bagby of Pleasant Hill; two brothers, Ernest Paul of Kingsville, Missouri and Earl Paul of Raytown, Missouri; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.(s/o Ira Thornton and Katie Denney Paul)
