Roland Dale Devers was born to Dale and Ophelia "Dutch" Devers on July 18, 1931 at Columbus, Indiana and died on July 6, 2013, at his home in Esbon, Kansas, at the age of 81 years.

Roland graduated high school and served in the Indiana National Guard. He met and married Ramona Juanita (Arnold) Devers Denny, Later he married Betty Devers, and last was Frances "Fran" Devers in 1979. Roland and Fran moved to Esbon community in 1994.

Roland worked at Cummins Engine Company as an engine inspector and after retirement he returned to Cummins to work in security. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by a son, Kevin Devers, and special friend, Mary of Columbus; two daughters,Kimberly, and husband, Greg Meek of Taylorsville and Lisa Devers and special friend, Pat of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; five stepdaughters, Marie and husband, Wayne Rufer of Henderson, Nevada, Marcia and husband, Bob Feagin of Midlothian, TX, Mary Ann and husband, Andy Long of Smith Center, Kansas, Marsha, and husband, Billy Jones of Haines City, Florida,and Rita, and husband, Larry Tidwell of Columbus; three stepsons, Gordon, and wife, Sally Biggs of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Frank, and wife, Elaine Biggs of Palatine, Illinois, and Tom and wife, Sherry Biggs of North Vernon; 24 Grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren;three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Shirley Park, and Evelyn Hendershot; and his wives, Ramona Jaunita, Betty and Frances "Fran" on April 7, 2013.

A memorial service for Roland Dale Devers was held Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at 10 a.m., at the Melby Mortuary Chapel, Mankato, Kansas, with Pastor Dennis Lambert officiating. The family requested the hymns of "Amazing Grace" and "In the Garden" be played during the service.

A second memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 11a.m., at the Come as You Are Church in Columbus, with Pastor Marty Wright officiating. Inurnment will be done at a later date in Prairie Home Cemetery, Esbon, Kansas, beside his wife, Fran. The family suggests memorials to the Esbon Fire Department.
