OBITUARY:
Lorene Wilhemina Emma (Lunzmann) Boeck, daughter of John and Sophia (Gobber) Lunzmeann, was born Jan. 7, 1922 at home near Auburn, NE. She was baptized Jan. 29, 1922 and confirmed April 5, 1936 at St. Paul Hickory Grove Lutheran Church near her home. Lorene attended school at Dist. #27 in Nemaha County. and started high school in Auburn but was needed at home so she couldn't finish school. She went to great lengths to earn her GED in 1979.

On September 18, 1941 Lorene was united in marriage to Albert Boeck at Hickory Grove Church. Their first home was on a farm in Pawnee County, NE. Later they also farmed in Nemaha and Richardson counties. They were blessed with six daughters. Elizabeth Ann, Nancy Kay, Patricia Sue, Emily Diane, Marilyn Lorene, and Cynthia Lee.

In 1952 Lorene and Albert sold their farm equipment and moved to Johnson, NE. For the next 17 years they owned and operated Boeck's Tavern in Johnson. Among other things, Lorene became very well-known for her doughnuts served every morning in the tavern. After selling the tavern in 1969, they moved to Auburn, where Lorene worked for Simon Rexall Drug Store and then Allison's Pharmacy.

Lorene was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Johnson, and belonged to the Women of the ELCA. She also volunteered her time at the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn and the Nemaha County Hospital. She attended the functions of the Senior Adults group, and a meeting wasn't complete without her raisin cream pie. Her hobbies included sewing, photography, quilting, and baking. A favorite joy of her was spending time with her children and all of their families.

When she was no longer able to live at her home, Lorene became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn, where she participated in activities as much as she was able. She was admitted to the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn on July 7, 2013 and passed away there on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the age of 91 years, 6 months, and 2 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert, infant siter Lillian, brothers Leonard, Adolph, and John, daughter Nancy, and granddaughter Megan Clements.

Lorene is survived by her daughters and husbands Elizabeth and Roger Patton of Lincoln, Patricia and Roger Rogge of Tecumseh, Emily and Joe Stahl of Tecumseh, Marilyn and Bruce Greer of Wagoner, OK. Cindy Clements of Brandon, SD. grandchildren Kristy (Andre) Booras, Ross (Robbie) Oestmann, Ryan (Jill) Oestmann, Tom (Stephanie) Rogge, Jennifer (Robert) Dyer, Melanie Rogge, Katie (Wes) DeBuhr, Dawn )Matt) Borrenpohl, Jake (Cassie) Stahl, Ben Stahl, Sarah (Cayton) Jones, Nick Greer, Trevor Clements, and Lauren Clements, great-grandchildren, Kyle and Allison Booras; Kristi Walker, Carmillia Oestmann, Whitney Delancy, Tori Oestmann, Mitchell and Jessica Oestmann, Joe and Abbey Rogge, Patrick and Emily Dyer, Macy DeBuhr. Aryssa, Alexis, and Anndyn Borrenpohl, Delaney and Callen Stahl, Maddie Jones; great-great grandchildren. JackLynn Oestmann and Riley Delancy; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were July 12, 2013 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Johnson, officiated by Rev. Catherine Burroughs, Susie Hogrefe was organist. and accompanist for a solo by Janell Johnson as well as congregational singing.

Pallbearers were grandsons Ross Oestmann, Ryan Oestmann, Tom Rogge, Jacob Stahl, Benjamin Stahl, Nicholas Greer, and Trevor Clements. Flower attendants were granddaughters: Kristy Walker, Jennifer Dyer, Melanie Rogge, Katheryn DeBuhr. Dawn Stahl,
Sarah Jones, Lauren Clements, and Megan Clements. Burial was in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery at Johnson, NE.
