Former Worland resident Terry Dale Viktorin, 53, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 as the result of an accident in the Big Horn Mountains, surrounded by his family.

Terry was born Dec. 29, 1959 in Freeport, Texas, the son of Don and Loyce (Matthews) Viktorin. He grew up in Texas and moved with his parents to Worland in 1976. Terry graduated from Worland High School in 1978. He went on to study at the University of Wyoming and graduated with a degree in Range Management in 1982. After graduation, he went to work for Holly Sugar as a fieldman.

On July 26, 1987, Terry married the love of his life, Mary Zimmer, in Torrington. The couple purchased Z & W Mill in 1992 where they worked side by side.

Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking pack trips in the mountains with his dad, brother and uncles. Terry was a loving, wonderful and devoted husband, father, son and brother. He loved being with his family.

He was a member of the Goshen County Chamber of Commerce and a leader for the Lingle Livestocker's 4-H Club.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rudolph and Dorothy Viktorin; and his maternal grandparents, Willard and Florine Matthews.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Viktorin of Torrington; his two sons, Landon Viktorin of Denver, Colo. and Shane Viktorin of Torrington; his parents, Don and Loyce Viktorin of Worland; his parents-in-law, Russell and Ila Zimmer of Torrington; his brother, Forrest (Tracey) Viktorin of Worland; his sister, Donna (Mark) McGarvin of Worland; his niece, Kirstie Viktorin of Worland; his nephew, Bryan Viktorin of Worland; his nephew, Justin McGarvin of Washington; his nephew, Jacob McGarvin of Worland, his niece, Shania McGarvin of Worland, his nephew Passion Ward of Denver, his nephew, Zenith Ward of Cheyenne; and numerous aunts and uncles in Texas.
