Carl Henry Rose, 83, born in Knoxville, TN and a resident of Spanish Fort for the past 12 years, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was the former owner of Rose Heating and Air Conditioning in Mobile. He later worked in HVAC maintenance for the Mobile County Commission until he retired. Airplanes and flying were his favorite hobby, so much so that he went on to study and obtain his private pilot license. He enjoyed spending time in the Pensacola Naval Aviation Museum. He also had the memorable opportunity to go on a Tiger Cruise, sailing from Portugal to Virginia Beach, VA on the USS Enterprise.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort. A visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 1:30pm at Hughes Funeral Home in Daphne. Funeral procession to follow. Officiating will be Dr. Paul Matthews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jubilee Baptist Church Building Fund, 9264 Pleasant Rd, Daphne, AL 36526. Notes of condolence may be expressed at hughesfh.com. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home and Crematory, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL 36526.
