Evelyn Barfield age 90 of DeFuniak Springs, FL died in a Ft Walton Beach Medical facility on July 11, 2013. She was born February 19, 1923 in Florala to Benjamin Franklin Rose and Hettie Redmon Rose. Evelyn worked in the textile industry in Florala for over 50 years. She was a loving mother to her 4 daughters who were the light of her life. Evelyn was an exceptional cook and seamstress and took pride in the dresses she made for her daughters. She loved to plant and take care of her flowers around her home and was known for her beautiful daffodils. Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and adored every moment she spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Buck Mitchell, Delmus Thorn and Melvin Barfield; one stepson Tommy Thorn; sisters, Isabelle Welch, Addie LaMarche, Bennie King, Thelma Aplin, Marjorie Cox and Louise Jackson.
She is survived by four daughters, 3 grandchildren 2 great grandchildren
