"UNMARKED GRAVES IN MCNAIRY COUNTY, TENN COMPILED BY NANCY WARDLOW KENNEDY

THE FORGOTTEN DEAD by Nancy Wardlow Kennedy
I found the following:

Emmons, Mary Rushing near Michie 1825 1856-1860 3rd wife Hanceford T Emmons

Now I have proof she lived passed 1856-1860 through USF Census as follows:
1850 District 9, McNary TN for Polly Rushing still at home with parents.
1860 McNairy, TN for Mary R Rushing still at home with parents.
1870 District 9, McNairy, TN for Mary Emons. She had married Hanceford Trantham "Hance" Emmons the 12 Jan 1865 in McNairy, TN and he died 8 Jan 1870 in New Hope, McNairy, TN. On this census we find the young Mary with not only her own 3 small children ages 1,3,and 4, but 4 step children who now are fatherless and motherless except for Mary, their ages are 13,14,17,and 20.
1880 District 9, McNairy, TN for Mary Emmons. She is now alone with her 3 children ages 12,13 and 15. I don't know about her 4 step children, their ages would be 30,27,24,and 23 so I guess they are on their own, how this family lived through their ordeal I can't imagine.
1900 McNairy, TN for Mary Emmmons. She is living in the home of her eldest son Robert, his wife Rebecca and thier 4 chldren.

Mary must have died before 1910, I can find nothing on her past the 1900 census. I have no burial graveyard to list but I'm listing her just the same, if anyone, this strong brave woman deserves her story of life and death to be documented.

Any additional iformation on this family will be greatly appreciated.
