Martha Jane Newell, 85, of Delaware, died Saturday (May 26, 2012) at her home.
She was born April 6, 1927, in Delaware, to Charles Edward and Mildred Nunamaker Gorgas. She was a lifetime resident of Delaware. She graduated from Willis High School and attended The Ohio State University. She was a member of the Lions Club, the Marion American Legion Auxiliary and a lifetime member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (John) O'Brien; a son, Steve (Brenda) Newell of Delaware; and three grandchildren, Jeff, Palatini, Matt Newell and Misty Hoffman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; two grandsons, Charles and Mark Palatini; and a brother, Charles Gorgas.
A graveside service was held for the family on Friday at Oak Grove Cemetery with Jon Peterson officiating.
