LEOMINSTER---Guy W. Bartlett, Jr., 95 years old, of Leominster died, Friday, October 12, 2012 in The Highlands in Fitchburg. He is survived by 3 sons David M. Bartlett and his wife Roanne of Leominster, Richard G. Bartlett and his friend Carol Baumback of Longmont, CO and Thomas J. Bartlett and his wife Susan of Leominster, son-n-law Guy Stroup of Battlefield, MO, sister-in-law Ruth Bartlett of Leominster, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his 1st wife Frances (Max) Bartlett in 1978, his 2nd wife Betty (Albanese) Bartlett in 2010 and his daughter Nancy A. Stroup in 2004. He was also predeceased by his brother Roger Bartlett and his sister Bertha Lanciani.
Guy was born June 23, 1917 in Lancaster, son of Guy W. and Beatrice (Hibbard) Bartlett, Sr. and had lived in Leominster for many years. He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran. He had worked at Simonds Saw & Steel in Fitchburg for over 30 years before retiring in 1979. While working at Simonds, he also worked part-time at the former Block Inc. in Leominster for several years. Guy was a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Church in Leominster and the Simonds Retirement Club in Fitchburg.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 10 am in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. Burial with military honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster.
