LEWIS - John W. Thompson, 74, died June 19, 2007, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born April 2, 1933, in Greensburg, the son of Andy W. and Martha L. Stapleton Thompson. He was a past resident of Lewis and Greensburg, He worked as a manager at Lewis Coop Feed Mill.
He belonged to Westside Baptist Church, Hutchinson and Lewis Baptist Church, Lewis.
On Aug. 16, 1953, he married Marlene Barber in Wilmore. She survives.
Survivors include: a son, John, Dodge City; four daughters, Carlene Wilkening, Hutchinson, Shirley Fuentes, Amarillo, Texas, Doris Wolfe, Lyndon, and Susan Jordan, Hutchinson; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: a brother and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lewis Baptist Church, Lewis with the Rev. Mark Hornbaker presiding. Visitation will be from 9 to 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Fairview, Greensburg.
