Herman Boettcher, 68, of near Brillion, former town of Maple Grove farmer, died this morning following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held at the Reedsville funeral home and at 1:30 p.m. at the Evangelical United Brethren church in Reedsville, the Rev. Merlin Hoeft officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park cemetery in Appleton.

Mr. Boettcher was born in Peshtigo in 1882 and in 1906 married Martha Krueger. They moved to a farm in Maple Grove which they operated until May, 1949, when they moved to Brillion.

The survivors are the wife; two daughters, Mrs. Arnold Leuman of Pound and Mrs. Adam Schamber of Milwaukee; eight sons, Everett of Fremont, Earl of Forest Junction, Arvie of Hilbert, Leonard, Wilmer, Elroy and Reuben of Brillion; five brothers, Henry of Appleton, Ferd of Oshkosh, August of Peshtigo, Robert and Emil of Brillion; four sisters, Mrs. Emil Kinast of Brillion, Mrs. Arnold Kampke of Peshtigo, Mrs. Henry Kinast of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Louis Abel of California; 19 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
