Cancer Fatal To Billings Man
Bridger Rites Set For William N. Bean
William Neil Bean, 62, Lockwood community resident, died at a local hospital at 11:25 p.m. Wednesday. Death was attributed to cancer. He had been confined to the hospital two weeks and had been in ill health several months.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bridger Methodist church. The Rev. Reuben Dutton, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Bridger cemetery. Golden fleece lodge No. 66, A.F. & A.M. of Bridger, of which he was a member, will conduct graveside rites.
Mr. Bean was born June 11, 1889, in the territorial settlement of Harris on the Rosebud. He was the son of Mr & Mrs. Jordan Bean and was married to Maudie Mae Foust March 26, 1913, at Livingston.
He farmed in various parts of Montana until 1935 when he moved to Elk Basin, Wyo., where he worked in the oil fields before coming to Billings in 1949.
Survivors include his widow, three sons, Harry J., Roy C., and William Bean, all of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Raymond Maze, Laurel road, Mrs. Jack Kanvick, of 1113 Berg avenue, Mrs. Glen Thorpe of 107 ½ South Thirty-fifth street and Mrs. Donald Briner of 2036 Garden avenue and nine grandchildren.
The body is at Settergren's funeral home.
