July 14, 1915 - Oct. 28, 1993
James Lloyd Alwine, 78, 1212 W. Wilkinson St., Goshen, died at 6:10 p.m. Thursday in Carriage Manor, Goshen.
A native and lifetime Goshen resident, he was born July 14, 1915, to Lloyd Ray and Josephine (Mishler) Alwine. On Nov. 29, 1974, he married Wanda Elliott. On April 4, 1976 he retired from Tucker Freight Lines. He was a member of First Church of God.
Surviving are Mrs. Alwine, a son, Dennis, Big Sandy, Texas; two stepdaughters, Mary Jane Crabille and Victoria Diamond, both of Goshen; two stepsons, Richard Elliott, Dallas, and Robert Elliott, Goshen; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Sternberg and Carol Lindhorn, both of Goshen.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Milo Miller with First Church of God, will officiate at the service. Pallbearers will be Robert Elliott II, Matt Diamond, Milton Lindhorn, James Lindhorn, Steve Lindhorn and James Rensberger. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Jones, the Rev. Norman Patton Sr., Dyron Douma, Duane Kauffman and Donald LeCount. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to First Church of God or Alzheimer's Association.
